At the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Bray Wyatt challenged former stablemate Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship in one of two matches that was pre-taped for the pay-per-view last month.
Ever since then, we haven’t seen Bray Wyatt or The Fiend on TV, and WWE has moved Braun Strowman onto a title feud with John Morrison and The Miz.
At Backlash next week, Strowman will defend his title against Miz and Morrison in a two-on-one handicap match.
Well, now Ringside News is reporting that Bray Wyatt’s return isn’t too far away, as he is set to reignite his feud with Braun Strowman in the lead up to SummerSlam.
It is unclear whether Strowman vs. Wyatt will take place at Extreme Rules or even SummerSlam, but what we do know is that the former Wyatt Family men will be clashing relatively soon.
If this report is correct, we could see Wyatt return next weekend at the Backlash pay-per-view after Strowman defeats Miz and Morrison, or even on the post-Backlash episode of SmackDown that will take place on June 19.
It is also likely that Strowman will be facing The Fiend instead of Bray Wyatt, which would also indicate and suggest that Braun’s days as Universal Champion are numbered. For the latest on this story, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
