Yesterday the incredibly reliable Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that WWE had called some NXT wrestlers to the Performance Center to tape Backlash. The recruits were then transported to Full Sail for the fantastic TakeOver: In Your House show.
WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor has been able to confirm with his own sources that indeed some of the matches for this weekend’s Backlash show were taped yesterday, while others were not.
WrestleTalk’s sources have confirmed that one of the matches that wasn’t filmed yesterday was the WWE Championship bout between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley.
Of course, this does not mean that the match will be broadcast live, WWE could film the match either today or tomorrow at the TV tapings that are set to take place. However, like Money in the Bank, it is likely that some of the matches will be live while others will be pre-taped.
At Money in the Bank, the Universal Championship match between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt was filmed ahead of time, likely to prevent against the people controlling the Firefly Fun House puppets being seen at ringside.
Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com as we work to confirm the other matches that have not been taped for Backlash yet and might be broadcast live.
