It’s being reported that New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) held a ‘secret’ TV taping in the USA yesterday featuring a pretty big debut.
PWInsider reports the show was held under the title Lion’s Break Collision, and 9-10 matches were taped in front of a closed set with social distancing rules in place.
It was held in the Los Angeles area and the talent was all American, including the debut of former MLW World Champion ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor.
Other names who worked the taping include Jeff Cobb, TJP, Rocky Romero, Clark Connors, Alex Coughlin, Karl Fredericks, Misterioso, and others.
It’s not yet known where, when or how NJPW will actually use the content that was taped.
The New Japan Cup kicks off tomorrow with the first round matches taking place being: Togi Makabe vs. Yota Tsuii; El Desperado vs. Tomohiro Ishii; Jado vs. Toru Yano; Hiromu Takahashi vs. Tomaoki Honma; and one surprise match.
