Once upon a time, Erick Rowan wrestled The Rock at WrestleMania 32. It is one of the more random matches in WrestleMania history but it did happen. Now, Rowan has mentioned that he would have liked to have had some banter with The Rock.
During an interview with Lewis Nicholls, Rowan discussed his lone WrestleMania singles match. He talked about how he lost the match and how he interacted with The Rock. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“It was cool to see him and what he does, especially in close proximity. It would have been nice to have a little banter but that was not the story that day. A funny story, a big reason I lost in six seconds is, I’m new to the business, it was my first one-on-one match at WrestleMania. I’m looking around and I didn’t hear the bell ring. Did I lose fairly? As a match, yes. I was new to it. It wouldn’t happen now.”
Rowan was one of the wrestlers who was released on Black Wednesday. He had a storyline early in the year with his spooky hamster cage but it was dropped when it was revealed that the cage was holding a mechanical spider.
