Are you telling me that a creative team headed by Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard isn’t interested in long term booking and creating new stars? Surely not!
Well actually that is exactly what is happening according to Wrestling Observer Radio. Now that Paul Heyman, the man who had the nerve to try and create new stars, is gone, Vince can do things his way.
You may have noticed on the last couple of weeks of Raw that WWE seems to be trying to draw fans in by promising legends, title matches and the return of Christian.
The report is that the steadily dropping Raw ratings have left Vince and Bruce with no other option than to book Raw on a weekly basis rather than thinking ahead and trying to build stars.
Who needs new stars when you can bring back 70-year-old Ric Flair to low blow someone? He’s the real star we need in 2020.
Speaking in the most recent investors call, Vince blamed the lack of Brock Lesnar on TV for the dropping ratings, and suggested the plan was to try and build new stars such as new WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.
Unfortunately it seems Vince has no intention of building new stars, so expect to see Stone Cold back in a couple of weeks, and we’ll probably get the Undertaker coming out of retirement for the 19th time too.
