It’s being reported that WWE is going to be making a major announcement regarding the NXT UK brand tomorrow (Tuesday, June 30).
F4WOnline reports that the brand’s talent has been informed of a mandatory conference call happening tomorrow, but weren’t told what it would be about.
The report notes that it could be to establish a new ‘code of conduct’ of sorts, which would come following the #SpeakingOut movement, during which several members of the NXT UK roster had allegations made against them, including Ligero and Travis Banks who have since been released from their contracts. Alex McCarthy has reported that WWE is not looking to shut the brand down.
This reason isn’t written in stone though, and this is just speculation but there’s a chance it could also be to do with the brand restarting to tape shows as it hasn’t been able to for a while due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Here in the UK, restrictions are starting to be gradually lifted, and while we’re not exactly back to normal, it certainly isn’t total lockdown like it was at one stage.
Do of course stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com as we’ll have news on the announcement when it comes to light.
