Last night on Monday Night Raw, Angel Garza and Andrade teamed in the opening match to take on former NXT Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders.
As such, Garza and Andrade will almost certainly be next in line to challenge The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team Championships, potentially at Extreme Rules next month.
While speaking about the match to Bryan Alvarez on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer seemed to indicate that Garza and Andrade were supposed to win the tag titles at some point.
Meltzer said that while he wasn’t sure if Garza and Andrade were going to win the titles during this feud, he notes that “at one point they were”.
There is no word on when Garza and Andrade were supposedly supposed to win the Raw Tag Team Championships, so make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on that.
Garza and Andrade were originally booked to face The Street Profits for the titles at WrestleMania 36. Instead, Andrade got injured and was replaced by Austin Theory. It is entirely possible that Andrade and Garza were set to win the titles on the “grandest stage of them all”.
