There was a major change made to last night’s broadcast of the August 14, 2020 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.
The show was rated TV-14, as opposed to the typical PG guideline. As of this writing, the exact reason for the change is unknown.
WWE has been making things a bit edgier as of late, especially with some naughty words being said in a few promos and the antics of the new RETRIBUTION faction.
WWE’s shows went PG in the summer of 2008 and has remained as such ever since, which some have believed to be to its detriment.
As of now, we don’t know whether WWE programming will remain TV-14 or if it was just for last night’s show only.
