New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) has crowned the winner of the 2020 New Japan Cup USA after the David Finlay vs KENTA final at NJPW Strong.
It was KENTA who emerged victorious, picking up the win following a low blow after the ref was knocked down, then a GTS to pin Finlay.
As a result of winning the tournament, KENTA was given the New Japan Cup USA trophy and a briefcase containing a contract for an IWGP United States Championship match.
KENTA then cut a promo targeted towards IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley, just saying that he’d be coming for his title.
However, he was then attacked by Jeff Cobb, who suggested that he wanted a shot at KENTA’s briefcase.
It has been announced that the Fighting Spirit Unleashed tour will start next week, but no matches have been announced as of yet.
