Another stipulation has been added to a huge championship match set for tomorrow’s August 23 SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
It was announced during the first return episode of Talking Smack on the WWE Network that Braun Strowman vs “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship will now be a Falls Count Anywhere match.
This means there will now be three no DQ type matches on the card, as we’ve also got the Seth Rollins vs Dominik Mysterio street fight and the no DQ ‘loser leaves WWE’ match between Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose.
“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt actually began his first reign as Universal Champion by defeating Seth Rollins in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Crown Jewel in October 2019.
We will of course have live coverage of SummerSlam here at WrestleTalk.com tomorrow night. The confirmed card as of this writing is as follows:
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton – WWE Championship
- Braun Strowman (c) vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt – Universal Championship Falls Count Anywhere match
- Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins – Street Fight
- Sasha Banks (c) vs. Asuka – Raw Women’s Championship
- Bayley (c) vs. Asuka – SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Street Profits (c) vs. Andrade & Angel Garza – Raw Tag Team Championship
- Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP – United States Championship
- Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville – No DQ, ‘Loser Leaves WWE’
