Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy is reporting that Nigel McGuinness is set to return to the commentary booth later this month as part of the relaunch of NXT UK. He will be working remotely from the US.
Confirmed: Nigel McGuinness will be on commentary when @NXTUK returns alongside @andyshep. Nigel will be working remotely from the US #NXTUK
For those that don’t know, McGuinness was furloughed back in April when many in-ring talent, backstage producers, writers and office staff were either released or furloughed by the company.
It was actually reported by PWInsider just a few days ago that McGuinness was set to return to the company for the first time in five months. However, it was not clear what McGuinness would be doing.
It was reported earlier this week that Wade Barrett is actually negotiating a full-time NXT announcer’s deal with WWE, so with Barrett potentially stepping into the NXT commentary booth full-time, we may have seen the last of McGuinness on the black and gold brand.
