As part of a cost-cutting measure brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic, WWE made the decision to fire or furlough several wrestlers, office workers and members of the backstage team back in April.
One of those released was Scott Armstrong, a former referee and backstage producer for the company. Armstrong, who is the brother of WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg, had been with WWE since 2006.
Taking to Twitter last night, Scott Armstrong revealed that he’d been brought back to work by WWE, and was now working with the NXT brand. His first job back was part of last night’s NXT TakeOver 31 show:
Back in the saddle and definitely happy to be a part of the @WWENXT Family!!!#TakeOver31
It’s great to hear that WWE made the call to bring Scott Armstrong back to work. Someone with his production experience will be vital to the NXT brand moving forward.
