Last night on Twitter, NXT Champion Finn Balor revealed that he’d broken his jaw in two places during his TakeOver 31 match over the weekend with Kyle O’Reilly. However, that might not actually be 100% true.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, while Finn has broken his jaw, the injury is apparently being made out to be worse than it actually is. Here’s exactly what Meltzer had to say on the matter:
“It’s not inaccurate, but I was told that it was made out to be worse than it is, whatever that means. I was told that by somebody there — I mean he’s got a broken jaw, but that’s what I was told.”
At this time, it is now known how long Finn Balor is expected to be out of action for, but it seems like he won’t be stripped of the NXT Championship, so it doesn’t seem as if the Irishman will be missing for too long.
Finn Balor isn’t the only NXT star to have suffered an injury recently, as on last night’s show, a bright young star from the black and gold brand appeared to seriously injure his leg. You can read more about that by clicking here.
Upon his return to NXT TV, who would you like to see Finn Balor defend his NXT Championship against? Let us know on Twitter.
