HeelByNature is reporting that WWE has filed to trademark “The Way”, with the description potentially spoiling that the name will be used for a WWE pay-per-view of Network special in the future.
The site is reporting that the trademark was filed last week “under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office”:
International Class 041: Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal
Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services
The “wrestling exhibitions and performances” part of the filing could spoil that the “The Way” trademark is going to be used as the name or tagline for an upcoming WWE pay-per-view or special event.
At this time, there are no reports indicating that WWE is going to put on a pay-per-view or event in any capacity entitled “The Way”. For potential updates to this story, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
