It was reported last night prior that WWE creative were told to make plans for Chelsea Green. Just a few hours later, the former NXT star debuted on the main roster on Friday Night SmackDown.
Unfortunately, during her match with Liv Morgan, Tamina and Natalya on the show, Chelsea Green suffered a broken wrist. This is unfortunately not the first time that Green has suffered this injury.
During her first televised match for NXT back in March 2019, Green suffered the same injury. She wouldn’t return to the ring for another three months.
Taking to Twitter, Green has issued an emotional statement regarding her injury, revealing that her surgery has taken place today. She also shared a picture of her in a hospital bed on Instagram.
Just like the rest of my career, I couldn’t have an easy debut! LOL, that just wouldn’t be fit for my wild journey. I’m headed into surgery now. I am beyond devastated but so excited to be a part of @WWE team SmackDown, when I get back!
Chelsea’s fiancé Matt Cardona also took Twitter to address the injury with a statement. He spoke about the incredibly difficult journey that Chelsea has had to go through to get to the main roster:
Welp… tonight was bittersweet. I’ve seen her get told no by WWE…to getting hired…to doing nothing in NXT…to finally get a NXT match but breaking her wirst during it…to getting surgery, rehabbing, coming back and atill doing nothing… to getting “called up”…to gong back to NXT…to getting “called up” again…to debuting on Raw but it was a taped episode and segmnt was cut…to doing nothing…to finally debuting on SmackDown tonight…but breaking her wirst and needing surgery again! JESUS! But Chelsea is a figher and she will come back again and be the STAR that she is destined to be. I love you.
Everyone at WrestleTalk would like to wish Chelsea Green the best following this incredibly unfortunate injury. We hope to see her back and healthy before too long.
