It was truly an eventful night for WWE NXT as former NXT UK Tag Team Champions the Grizzled Young Veterans made their return to the program. This was their first appearance on the show since before the pandemic.
The duo made their return by attacking EverRise before they could have a match. James Drake and Zack Gibson attacked Ever Rise and told the NXT fans that they were back. They reintroduced themselves and said they will be NXT’s number one.
The Grizzled Young Veterans have not wrestled since defeating the Forgotten Sons on the February 26 edition of NXT. They had made the jump from NXT UK earlier in the year for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, which they made the final of. In the final, they lost to the upstart team Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne.
NXT has been in need of tag teams lately and now they have one with a pretty impressive pedigree. With the NXT Tag Team Champions currently involved with their WarGames match with Undisputed Era, it may be a while before the Grizzled Young Veterans get a shot at the titles.
