Next week on Dynamite “Winter is Coming”, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley is going to defend his title against Kenny Omega in a rematch from their violent clash at Full Gear 2019m – AEW’s first PPV of the Dynamite era.
This week, it was reported that following his title match on the December 2 episode of Dynamite, Kenny Omega is going to be heading across the border to Mexico to defend his AAA Mega Championship.
Despite the COVID pandemic, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Kenny Omega is going to be defending his AAA Mega Championship against Laredo Kid at TripleMania next month:
“One of the matches scheduled for TripleMania is Kenny Omega defending the AAA Championship against Laredo Kid. Obviously for every reason in the world you wonder about it. I just want to let everyone know that as of this afternoon that match is going to happen, it’s scheduled to happen on December 12th, so he is going to Mexico.”
At this time, it is unclear whether or not Kenny Omega would be made to quarantine after his return to the United States from Mexico following the AAA TripleMania show, meaning he’d miss at least one AEW show.
This is obviously pretty big news, as Kenny Omega could very well be AEW World Champion at that stage. For more information on how Kenny wrestling at the AAA show next month impacts AEW, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
