An interesting sign has come to light that seems to suggest Sting could wrestle in AEW following his monumental debut this past Wednesday.
The promotion has added Sting to the website under the “men’s roster” section. People like Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard are listed as “coaches”, and everyone on the men’s roster, other than Sting, has wrestled.
His record is also listed (at 0-0 obviously). Only the active wrestlers have their records listed – the likes of the aforementioned Anderson and Blanchard don’t.
This is not confirmation by any means, but the fact that Sting has been added to the men’s roster section and his record has been listed does seem to imply that said record will change at some point, which obviously would require him having a match.
Just to reiterate, we are not reporting that Sting will be having a match in AEW, so don’t get carried away, but it’s definitely a sign that it’s not impossible.
Sting does have a history with injuries though, so if he is ever going to have some kind of match, there’ll probably have to be precautions in place. Something like a pre-taped cinematic match could work well.
