Current WWE SmackDown star Cesaro has refused to address his contract status amidst rumors he may or may not have re-signed.
The story is that Cesaro was originally going to get the push in the SmackDown gauntlet match earlier this year, but because he hadn’t re-signed at that point, it went to Shinsuke Nakamura instead.
Since then, it’s been reported he has agreed to a new deal and that’s why he’s now being used more prominently than he has been previously, and seemingly heading towards a big match with Seth Rollins.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Cesaro himself was asked about his status, but didn’t give an answer either way.
He said:
“I’m not going to confirm or deny anything. To me, there needs to be a certain amount of mystery in wrestling. A lot of that magic gets lost, so I’ll let people talk. What is important to me is my work in the ring.”
The former United States Champion has become embroiled with Seth Rollins on SmackDown in recent weeks and it looks like they’ll be having a match at either Fastlane or even WrestleMania.
