A lot of people have cried foul at the booking of last night’s match between Randy Orton and The Fiend. Many had thought WrestleMania would be a moment for The Fiend to look strong but instead, Orton beat him with one RKO.
Now, a new report from Fightful Select (subscription required) has revealed that the finish of the match was changed.
The report states that the plan as of Friday was for The Fiend to defeat Orton. However, Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard made the decision to change the finish with Orton now winning. It was also noted that management was happy with the finish as it played out.
Talent, on the other hand, were said to have been exceedingly confused about the booking of the match.
The report also said that the talent involved in the match were not even told what the endgame plan of the storyline was going to be. The only thing that was said was that Orton would be written off television. Given how the match ended, it remains to be seen if that will be the case.
