Bayley has opened up about her position in WWE, describing her thoughts after not making the card for WrestleMania 37.
Despite being a key player throughout the WWE pandemic era, Bayley didn’t get a WrestleMania match this year. Her involvement at the event was reduced to short segments, before getting beaten up by The Bella Twins.
According to Bayley, these setbacks keep her motivated. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Bayley noted that she loved seeing Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair main event the first night of WrestleMania 37.
Pointing out that she is now the only Horsewoman who hasn’t headlined The Show of Shows, Bayley predicted that she will reach the top of the mountain one day.
Here are the full quotes:
“I could feel it from the very beginning. The fans were ready to see Sasha finally live out her dream, and they were ready to see Bianca deliver. Within the first minute, I knew it was magical.”
“That’s the pinnacle, what you work your whole life for, I worked that whole year during the pandemic to get to WrestleMania in front of fans, and then I still didn’t have that. I didn’t have that moment, I didn’t have that match so that only makes my desire stronger.
“I was the last one to come to Raw and SmackDown between the Four Horsewomen, and I can be the last one to main-event a WrestleMania.”
Before the event, it was reported that Becky Lynch would return during an unannounced Bayley segment at WrestleMania 37. Bayley has since commented on these rumors, calling them wishful thinking.
A photo of Lynch’s impressive physique was recently posted to Instagram, hinting at a potential WWE return.
Bayley challenges Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SmackDown on Sunday at WrestleMania Backlash. This will be Belair’s first title match since winning the gold last month.
