It has emerged that AEW star Kip Sabian could be on the shelf for six months after he underwent shoulder surgery this past week.
The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirms Sabian underwent the surgery on May 17 and that is was on his shoulder.
It was noted that shoulder surgeries often lead to absences of six months or longer, but obviously that does vary depending on the nature of the surgery.
Sabian was written off AEW TV via a backstage attack from former tag team partner and now-TNT Champion Miro.
Miro smashed Sabian’s forearm with a door, so he didn’t attack the legitimately injured body part, but Sabian being in a cast will still make sense.
AEW is not short of injury problems right now with Sabian, Chris Jericho, Rey Fenix, Ricky Starks, John Silver, Anna Jay, Darius Martin and others all currently on the shelf.
We wish Sabian, and everyone else battling injuries right now, safe recoveries and our best wishes.
