Here is the latest on plans for Deonna Purrazzo’s IMPACT Knockouts Championship match set for Slammiversary.
On the July 17 show, Purrazzo will defend her Knockouts Title against a mystery opponent. According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Purrazzo’s scheduled opponent is somebody not currently on the IMPACT roster.
Fans speculated that Ruby Soho (former WWE star Ruby Riott) will step up to challenge Purrazzo next Saturday. These rumors arose after it was reported that Malakai Black only had a 30 day non-compete clause following his WWE release. Fightful Select has stated that Soho will not be the mystery opponent.
Another name that has featured in speculation is Chelsea Green. The former Knockout’s Champion recently compared her IMPACT and WWE runs, opening up about frustrations with her lack of WWE screen time.
Purrazzo has held the Knockouts Championship for over 238 days. She is set to compete against AAA Reina De Reina’s Champion Faby Apache in a title vs title match at TripleMania in August.
