A new report has revealed that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) President Tony Khan is currently in Chicago, possibly shooting promo footage.
As per Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, AEW wants to make the Chicago area its #2 market, so plans to host more shows in the city going forward.
The report also noted that AEW is currently considering the United Center as a possible future venue. Haynes noted that sources told him Tony Khan and the EVPs flew to Chicago on Sunday (July 25), reportedly to film promotional content for the United Center.
AEW has announced that Tony Khan will make a huge announcement this week. Haynes has speculated that Khan’s announcement will be related to a new Chicago (United Center) show.
A previous report stated that AEW signing CM Punk is a done deal. Haynes has since stated that AEW wants Punk to appear in Chicago, as it’s a matter of “when” rather than “if”.
In September, AEW returns to the NOW Arena for Dynamite, Rampage and All Out shows.
