AEW Rampage started off with a bang. Three title matches tonight. People were wondering if there would be a title change.
It didn’t take long for us to get one. The opening match was Kenny Omega and Christian Cage. The match was fantastic and in the end, Christian Cage won the IMPACT World Championship.
Many fans were wondering how AEW would book themselves out of this corner. You don’t want either man looking weak heading into their match at All Out. In one fell swoop, AEW created a reason for them to fight again, deepened the feud, and booked a match that crowned a new champ without taking away Omega’s momentum.

After a near fall, Don Callis climbed on the apron. Kenny Omega hit a low blow and The Young Bucks delivered a chair into the ring. Omega set up the chair and went for the One-Winged Angel.
Cage reversed the move and hit the Killswitch onto the chair. Cage is the new champ. Omega’s attempt at cheating backfired.
Congrats to Cage for winning. After the match, Orange Cassidy stood in the background of Cage’s post-match interview.
