It’s being reported that we shouldn’t expect WWE to make a “reactionary move” if CM Punk debuts for AEW this Friday.
It’s been teased very heavily by AEW, Tony Khan and Punk himself that he’ll appear in Chicago on Rampage this coming Friday to confront Darby Allin.
This would of course come the day before SummerSlam, but apparently WWE won’t be doing anything on the pay-per-view in reaction to Punk’s seemingly inevitable return.
WrestleVotes tweeted:
Source states to not expect a “reactionary” move if, more like when, CM Punk shows up on AEW Rampage Friday night, 24 hours prior to WWE’’ second biggest show of the year. Time will tell.
Previous reports have indicated that higher-ups in WWE aren’t actually fussed about Punk going to AEW, even stating: “let him be their problem”, so this isn’t necessarily as surprising as it may seem despite the company’s reputation.
