We appear to be just 2 days away from CM Punk’s return to professional wrestling for All Elite Wrestling on the Rampage show on August 20 from Chicago.
For those still scepitical, Fightful Select (subscription required) has reported that TNT themselves are operating under the impression that CM Punk will be coming into the company.
Multiple people at TNT and WarnerMedia spoke to Fightful and expressed their excitement of CM Punk coming in, and noted that he will have their promotional machine behind him upon his return. It was not specified what exactly this entails, but both TNT and WarnerMedia were ‘very aware’ of this.
The same employees noted that AEW running four shows over a few weeks in the same market, and them selling the way they did, impressed many within the company.
One source from TNT was said to be particularly excited about the United Center, Chicago and Bulls tie-in.
Friday, August 20 is the reported date of Punk’s arrival.
