Earlier today, PWInsider had reported that Adam Cole was officially a free agent, having finished up with the company at NXT TakeOver 36, in his defeat to Kyle O’Reilly.
Fightful later conflicted this report, stating that Cole was still under contract to the company until Friday (August 27).
PWInsider has since corrected the initial report, claiming that Cole is indeed under contract to WWE until Friday, matching what Fightful is reporting.
PWInsider notes that those within WWE believe that Cole is finished with the promotion unless he signs an extension, which Fightful notes that WWE still intend on doing.
