The participants for each block of the upcoming G1 Climax 31 tournament were announced During today’s (September 5) NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam.
Kota Ibushi, the winner of last two round-robin tournaments, will be part of Block A, along with current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi. Other notable names in the block include Tetsuya Naito and KENTA.
Top names set to compete in Block B are Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada and Jeff Cobb. Chase Owens, Tanga Loa, and The Great-O-Khan are set to make their G1 Climax tournament debuts during this year’s competition.

The G1 Climax 31 tournament will begin September 18, with the finals taking place on October 21.
