Finn Balor brought back his ‘Demon’ persona on the September 10 WWE SmackDown, and will bring it out again for Extreme Rules on September 26.
The ‘Demon’ Balor will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the pay-per-view, after Balor already unsuccessfully challenged Reigns on the September 3 SmackDown.
However, before that match, Balor was attacked by the Usos, which was the excuse to book a rematch.
At the end of the September 10 SmackDown, a SmackDown Tag Team Title match with the Usos defending against the Street Profits ended in disqualification when Roman Reigns came out and attacked the Profits.
There was then a three-on-two beatdown of the Profits from Reigns and the Usos, which is when Finn Balor came out in full ‘Demon’ gear to confront the Universal Champion.
This will be Balor’s first match as the ‘Demon’ since he beat Andrade in Saudi Arabia in June 2019.
