AEW star Lio Rush has taken to Twitter to clarify comments he recently made about Triple H and Vince McMahon.
During an appearance on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions, Rush had said:
“Tony (Khan) is such a great guy. That played a huge part in me wanting to be in AEW too. I didn’t want another boss like Vince McMahon. I didn’t want another boss like Hunter. People have different opinions about Hunter, but we always butt heads for different reasons.”
After that quote caught some traction online, Lio Rush then took to Twitter to explain what he meant, writing:
Also…. HHH and Vince were great. Never said i was mistreated. I said we butted heads like human beings do and that’s fine. Most of us released during the pandemic were dropped in the blink of an eye and made us feel unwanted. I simply wanted an opposite feeling. #SimpleAsThat
Rush recently signed with AEW and appears to be involved in a storyline where he’s trying to take Dante Martin under his wing, which Martin’s previous mentor Matt Sydal isn’t too happy about, but Rush proved his worth to Sydal by getting him a match with CM Punk on tomorrow’s Rampage show.
