2013 Diva Search contest winner Eva Marie was one of the several names WWE released from the company on November 4, 2021.
After her first stint with the company from 2013-2017, Eva Marie signed a deal to return in 2020, and then eventually reemerged in May 2021.
Marie’s 2021 run saw her paired with Doudrop – formerly Piper Niven – who she would often have wrestle matches for her, but then declare herself the winner.
Doudrop grew frustrated with Marie’s antics and turned on her at on August 21 at SummerSlam.
Two matches between them took place in the weeks that followed, with Doudrop scoring easy wins in both of them.
Marie was written off WWE TV via a Shayna Baszler attack on September 27 as she was taking time away to film a movie.
She wasn’t assigned to a brand when the WWE Draft took place at the start of October, and was still filming the aforementioned movie when she was released a month later.
