AEW held it’s third annual Full Gear last Saturday (November 13), which saw the crowning of ‘Hangman’ Adam Page as the new AEW World Champion, completing a two year story.
The event was also reportedly a success from a financial perspective, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, who is reporting that last Saturday’s event is the second highest grossing AEW pay-per-view in history, only behind this year’s All Out show in September.
Thurston reports that the event is projected to have received 145,000 buys on pay-per-view. This number is an early estimate reflecting all pay-per-view buys, whether worldwide, traditional, digital, live, or late. It is also noted that traditional cable and satellite distributors take longer to report their numbers. Additional late buy numbers will also affect final results.
The event was advertised to feature a main event of Hangman Adam Page taking on Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship, as well as CM Punk vs Eddie Kingston, Bryan Danielson vs Miro, and more.
