On November 30, Matt Cardona submitted an application to trademark ‘DEATHMATCH KING’ with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. As per the USPTO, the trademark would allow Cardona to use the phrase for select items of merchandise.

Cardona began referring to himself as the Deathmatch King during his GCW World Championship run earlier this year. He defeated Nick Gage in a deathmatch to win the title at July’s GCW Homecoming event.
Cardona dropped the gold to Jon Moxley at GCW The Art Of War Games in September. The Deathmatch King has since feuded with Effy over the Internet Title.
At Hard To Kill on January 8, Cardona and W. Morrissey will challenge Moose for the IMPACT World Championship in a three-way match.
