Brock Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship match at WWE Day 1 due to Roman Reigns testing positive for COVID-19, meaning their scheduled Universal Championship match was cancelled.
Lesnar went on to win the WWE Championship, making him now the top champion of the Raw brand.
One man who was happy to see the Beast on top of the red brand was Paul Heyman, who can now advocate for Lesnar once again following Roman Reigns firing him on SmackDown back on December 17.
Tonight’s (January 3) episode of Raw opened up with Heyman in the ring, once again as an advocate, where he introduced his client Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar thanked Heyman for advocating for his free agency and helping make him the WWE Champion.
The previously scheduled four-way between Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley will take place on tonight’s show to crown the number one contender for Lesnar’s title at the Royal Rumble premium live event. You can follow along with our live coverage of tonight’s Raw here.
