With the announcement of current IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James for the Women’s Royal Rumble, the wrestling world is abuzz with speculation about what other forbidden door entrants could appear at the premium live event on January 29.
A new report from Wrestling Observer seems to rule out one huge name and the entire company they work for, noting:
“There will be no AEW involvement at the Royal Rumble. Jon Moxley will not be at that show.”
Jon Moxley has been off of AEW television since November, taking time away from work to enter rehab to address issues with alcohol use.
While no return date has been announced for AEW action, Moxley will see a return to the ring on January 23, where he will defend the GCW World Title against Homicide at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
Currently, 14 male entrants and 19 female entrants have been announced for this year’s Rumble, still leaving plenty of slots for surprises.
