Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes have both reacted to a new AEW announcement, following their departures from the company.
AEW has revealed that the promotion will make its Detroit, Michigan debut with a Dynamite & Rampage taping at the Little Caesars Arena on June 29.
Former EVP Cody Rhodes has taken to Twitter to note that AEW’s latest venture is ‘very cool to see’.
Praising Brandi and Rafael Morffi for bringing AEW to Detroit, Cody tweeted:
“Very cool to see! BIG props to @TheBrandiRhodes / @rmorfnyc for making Detroit finally happen. “
Retweeting Cody’s post, Brandi pointed out that the opportunity to wrestle in her hometown would’ve been a nice birthday treat.
Crediting Morffi for securing the deal, Brandi tweeted:
What a birthday treat it would have been! I’ve never wrestled in my home town. Last time with ROH my collarbone was broken. Perhaps it’s still in my future
Detroit Fam…thank my fellow board members at @kulturec for helping me and Raf start the convos. Raf brought it home!
AEW announced the departures of Cody & Brandi Rhodes on February 15. Diamond Dallas Page recently recalled a conversation he had with Cody days before the announcement, which you can read about at this link.
