Coming off the heels of the critically acclaimed Peacemaker series, John Cena is set to star in a new film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cena has just closed a deal to star in a live-action/CG animated hybrid feature from Warner Bros called “Coyote vs. Acme”.
The film is centered around the classic Looney Tunes character, Wile E. Coyote and will be directed by Dave Green. Chris DeFaria and James Gunn will also be producing the movie.
Wile E. Coyote is a famed character from Looney Tunes who was endlessly foiled in attempts to capture and kill his enemy, The Road Runner. Coyote was aided by devices mail ordered from the Acme Corporation that never worked properly.
The film plays off of this and sees a lawyer represent Coyote against Acme over its defective products, only to discover his boss from his former law firm is representing Acme.
John Cena will be playing the role of the former boss in the feature.
This movie will see Cena return to the family comedy genre after his previous two films, F9: The Fast Saga and The Suicide Squad, were rated PG-13 and R respectively.
