A rumor started by Wade Keller of PWTorch making rounds on Twitter today about Brandi Rhodes has been refuted by several AEW stars.
On his latest audio podcast, Wade Keller reported that those who he spoke with in AEW said that Brandi was disliked behind the scenes. Keller stated:
It sounds mean but nobody has anything nice to say about Brandi Rhodes and her disposition or popularity behind the scenes
This statement made its way around Twitter today with various AEW talent and staff responding.
Twitter user WrestlePurists posted the quote with former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose being the first to reply, saying:
This is just flat out some bulls**t. Brandi was liked by many people backstage including myself. Is she a polarizing character, for sure… but don’t work yourself into a shoot. You want a hot scoop from the source, well here it is. Stop making s**t up
Later, AEW star Red Velvet also replied:
I think you have a lot to say, about someone Im sure you never even got to know personally! @TheBrandiRhodes is very professional and private. Just because she’s not out there involved in everyones drama doesn’t make her unpopular backstage. She as Cody had a big hand in helping me and i think it’s very disrespectful and rude how you guys can make comments and have people believe things that are not true! Back off and just be happy for people in their new endeavors. Good day!
With Cody and Brandi’s AEW departure, Brodie Lee’s wife Amanda Huber has taken over the community outreach program for the company.
Huber has been vocal in her support of the Rhodes family following the news of their departure with a thread outlining how they have helped her and AEW.
In regards to Brandi being disliked, Amanda tweeted:
Also seeing articles that say “nobody has anything nice to say about Brandi’s departure”
That is such utter bulls**t.
Brandi was a consummate professional. She is incredibly strong and professional and caring.
While I’m not in the locker room, I’m far from “nobody”
AEW referee Aubrey Edwards replied to this tweet, saying:
The “nobody has anything nice to say about Brandi” line is such a crock of s**t.
I had multiple meetings with Brandi every week for various projects. She’s professional, hard working, and gets s**t done. She’s a friend of mine and I’m gutted to see her go.
WrestleVotes also tweeted in regards to this rumor:
I know there’s some noise going around, and I absolutely have no horse in the race here, but I did ask a few people and all of them said good things about Brandi Rhodes. Most of the folks I spoke to said she will be missed within the company as a whole.
