Latest On Plans For Roman Reigns As Unified WWE Universal Champion WWE

A backstage update has emerged on plans for Roman Reigns and the unified WWE Universal Championship, following WrestleMania 38.

Reigns notably defeated Brock Lesnar to win the Winner Takes All WWE & Universal Title Unification bout on WrestleMania 38 Sunday.

There has been some confusion among the fanbase as to what this actually means. The WrestleMania match stipulation suggests that Reigns now holds a single unified title, however WWE.com still lists him as a double champion.

Per Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, WWE hasn’t yet decided how the title will work, and are still yet to finalise Reigns’ weekly schedule:

“As far as I know, and this is something I was told, it hasn’t been decided yet on how they’re doing this. Like, the concept of how they’re going to do this unified title thing, I don’t think they’ve decided if he’s going to be on Raw every week or every other week. It hasn’t been set yet. They’re working all this out right now on how they’re going to play this out.”

It appears that Shinsuke Nakamura may be Reigns’ next challenger, after he confronted the Tribal Chief in the ring on Friday Night SmackDown. Reigns offered the former Intercontinental Champion a hug, before the Bloodline laid Nakamura out.

Reigns is reportedly set to be in the building for Monday’s WWE Raw taping, which you can read more about right here.
