When Cody Rhodes originally got his WWE release back in 2016, he created a now famous ‘list’ of opponents that he had hoped to face on the independent scene.
Rhodes wrestled every single person on the list except for one, Roderick Strong, who signed with WWE shortly after Cody’s departure.
With Rhodes now returning to the company, and Strong still working there, the match is now possible for the first time, something that Strong teased on Twitter, tagging Cody in a tweet of him hitting a Backbreaker.
Cody responded to Roddy’s tweet, saying:
I’m game – only wrestler on the fabled list I didn’t get around to fighting (But if that backbreaker happens, early retirement for me)
Rhodes is set for a rematch against Seth Rollins at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash show, while Strong recently challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT UK Championship.
