Cody Rhodes made his WWE return at WrestleMania 38 following six years away, with three of those years being spent as a part of All Elite Wrestling, which he helped found.
One of Rhodes’ most memorable feuds in AEW was his feud with MJF in 2019/2020, which saw several moments that have become iconic in AEW’s short history.
One such moment was Cody hitting a Moonsault off of a Steel Cage onto Wardlow during Wardlow’s debut match. The clip was shared around on Twitter yesterday.
Cody responded to wrestling coach Danny Cage, who said that the moment was ‘insane’ and that Cody was ‘crazy’ for doing it, to which Cody said:
That year 1 stuff hits hard man, lovely memory Very proud of @IWCwrestling‘s Warpuppy @RealWardlow too
Just over two years after the moment, Cody Rhodes is back in WWE and set for a rematch with Seth Rollins at the WrestleMania Backlash event this Sunday.
Meanwhile, Wardlow is on the cusp of breaking out as a babyface in AEW, and is set to face MJF’s mystery opponent on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show.
