Stephanie McMahon shocked a lot of people last week when she announced she would be stepping away from WWE for an undisclosed period of time to focus on her family and other responsibilities.
It was reported soon after that WWE President and Chief Brand Officer Nick Khan would be taking over a number of her duties, and WWE has since advertised a job which would see the successful candidate receive a number of Stephanie’s responsibilities.
In terms of when she might be returning, it seems we shouldn’t expect to see her turn up in WWE any time soon.
In a PWInsider Q&A, Mike Johnson was asked about Stephanie McMahon, and what the plan is now she’s no longer working with WWE. He said:
“In the short term, it is believed Nick Khan will be overseeing Stephanie McMahon’s former team. I would expect WWE, if they aren’t already, to begin looking for someone to oversee the Brand Marketing for the company. No one I’ve spoken to believes McMahon will be returning anytime soon, so the company will need to have someone full-time.”
Here is Stephanie’s full announcement tweet.
As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE. WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family.
