Sasha Banks’ quoted appearance fee has been revealed and while the figure might give us regular folks sticker shock, promoters are said to be ‘more than happy’ to pay that price!
Sasha Banks is accepting appearance bookings for non-wrestling related appearances under her real name, Mercedes Varnado, and is making sure she’s compensated fairly as she strikes out on her own.
After the announcement of her appearance at the upcoming C2E2 convention (who announced another notable attendee as well) Fightful Select has reported hearing from numerous promoters from both inside and outside the wrestling industry who expressed interest in booking Mercedes Varnado.
Fightful notes that while appearance promoters were noted to be told that she was not set to take any professional wrestling related signings until January 1, 2023, non-wrestling industry promoters were quoted an asking price for an appearance of $30,000.
The quote is said to be comparable to Sting however less than Ric Flair, Goldberg, Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan.
Sasha Banks’ built-in fan base, leaving on her own terms and not previously having been a part of the convention scene which lends to exclusivity of the event, all contribute to the appearance fee.
One promoter elaborated that Varnado’s demand should be high for the aforementioned reasons but also because they know they would make their money back on that investment.
