It was reported earlier this week by Fightful Select that tentative plans are in place for former AEW Champion Kenny Omega to make his return from injury, having last wrestled in November 2021.
The report noted there are also rumours of a trios feud for when he does return, which, and this is our own speculation, could see Omega reunite with the Young Bucks.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke in more detail about when Omega may actually be making his return.
He said:
“He’s hoping to be at All Out, but it’s too soon to say that he will or he won’t. He’s hoping for it, that’s kind of the target right now. The Chicago show (All Out), I think is the target for that (Omega’s return), I think it’s the target for Punk. But I don’t know that either of them are sure things. Also it’s probably the target for Danielson too.”
If Omega and Punk are both ready to return at All Out, it would make a lot of sense to have arguably AEW’s two biggest stars return on AEW’s biggest show of the year.
Punk is out with a broken foot, and Bryan Danielson is yet to be cleared to return after suffering a concussion. Keep up to date with all AEW injuries using our injury tracker.
