WWE star Damian Priest sees Tony Khan purchasing Ring of Honor as a positive.
In March 2022, AEW President Tony Khan purchased ROH after Sinclair Broadcasting shut down the company at the end of 2021.
Current WWE star Damian Priest spent three years in Ring of Honor as “Punishment Martinez” where he won the ROH Television Championship.
Speaking with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc. during SummerSlam weekend, Priest was asked about his thoughts on ROH’s revival under Tony Khan.
He answered:
“Anytime that there’s another avenue for the boys and girls to go to, it’s a positive. I obviously still have friends there, so there’s nothing negative about a good place for people to continue living their dreams. For me, that’s A+.”
ROH had their Death Before Dishonor event on July 23, but they do not have any dates scheduled as of yet. However, ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli will defend his title for the first time against Konosuke Takeshita on this Saturday’s AEW Battle Of The Belts III.
Meanwhile, Damian Priest teamed with Finn Balor of The Judgment Day in a loss to Rey and Dominik Mysterio in a No Disqualification Tag Team Match thanks to interference from Edge.
