One of the major talking points coming out of last night’s AEW Dynamite show was the injury to AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa.
Rosa had a backstage interview on the show, where she revealed that she had been injured, and that an interim AEW Women’s Champion would be crowned at All Out.
The match to crown the interim champion will be a four-way between Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida. Prior to the change, Rosa and Storm were set for a singles encounter for the championship.
Per Fightful Select, the original plan had Toni Storm defeating Thunder Rosa for the title at All Out, which obviously now won’t be happening.
This does not necessarily mean that Toni will be winning the interim title in Chicago next weekend, as plans can always change.
There were rumours that Rosa stepping away from the company was due to a suspension rather than an injury, which have since been debunked.
