An update has emerged on Roman Reigns’ WWE future following his Undisputed WWE Universal Title defence at Clash At The Castle.
In the main event of the September 3 premium live event, Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre to retain his gold, with an assist from Solo Sikoa.
The result was surprising for some, with there being speculation that McIntyre was set to become champion, with Reigns working less dates moving forward.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Reigns is still not scheduled to compete at Extreme Rules on October 8. Indicating that Reigns’ next title bout will be in November, Meltzer noted:
“He’s not on the (next) show (Extreme Rules). His next championship match is Saudi Arabia. I don’t know who against but I know it’s Saudi Arabia. He’s not on the Philly show.”
WWE will return to Saudi Arabia on November 5 for the Crown Jewel premium live event. This will be WWE’s second special in Saudi Arabia this year, following Elimination Chamber in February.
