Former WCW star Konnan has been a rather vocal critic of Tony Khan’s booking of All Elite Wrestling, with him criticising the promotion’s booking, among other things, during it’s three year existence.
Despite Konnan’s criticisms, he has made various appearances on AEW programming, most recently on the June 26, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Konnan spoke about Tony Khan on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, where he stated that he would never speak to Tony about working for AEW as he wouldn’t want to appear as though he’s only speaking to him to get a job in the company, but finished by letting Tony know that he ‘knows where to find’ him if Tony wants him.
He said:
“Now, I have never talked to Tony [Khan] and will never talk about working there because I don’t want him to think our friendship is predicated on me being employed there. Sometimes I wish he wasn’t the owner there so I could just chop it with him as he’s actually very funny and we like a lot of the same things. But if he wants me, he knows where to find me; you know what I’m saying.”
Konnan has history with many of the current AEW stars, including Santana and Ortiz who he was aligned with in IMPACT Wrestling.
