Tonight’s pre-taped edition of NXT started off in a wild way with an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels.
In a backstage segment, Michaels appeared with Solo Sikoa and Carmelo Hayes to reveal a massive announcement.
According to Michaels, because Solo competed in a match that he wasn’t sanctioned to be in, the results couldn’t stand.
It was then that Shawn Michaels forced Solo Sikoa to relinquish the North American Championship.
For his part, Sikoa was very accepting of the situation and rather seemed just to be pleased to have bested Melo. Bonus, he also had a really cool accessory for the Bloodline’s press conference with Logan Paul!
Solo went on his way with good tidings from Michaels, wishing him the best of luck in his future career on Raw or SmackDown.
After Hayes assumed that the title would immediately go back to him, the Heartbreak Kid dropped some legendary wisdom, saying:
“Anytime you think you’re bigger than business, business will come slap you in the face and that’s what it did.”
At Halloween Havoc, Hayes and four other men who qualify over the next several weeks on NXT will compete in a ladder match to determine the new NXT North American Champion.
